Rick-- it's terra cotta colored clay. When I put it in my outside kiln, it will turn black. Once I got it ready (the clay has to be leather hard so it is firm enough to hold it's shape, but still flexible) it only took an hour.
GDad-- yes, they are yoga symbols. I'm not sure which. I needed to do a design for my assignment and I had a calligraphy book near me and was like, "Hmm. This would work."
